I actually think it was written by a content writer, not a Realtor. But you are right, if it’s a Realtor, it is someone who stays in their comfort zone.
Wear what makes you comfortable.

Agree. I tend to dress more casually and comfortably (but still neat) than most Realtors. It’s hot in Florida. It’s a job that requires more physical activity than a lot of professional jobs. I own my style – if it’s not what you would wear to work, I’m OK with that. I make a good living.

Ha. Emma, we agree! How you manage to look professional and in what context is another story… Not easy for some people to pull off!

It’s a matter of looking professional and like you care. Thats all. This is an article some people need.

PERIOD. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Your clients will respect that.

Hey Amber, yes we do! https://theclose.com/27-things-male-realtors-should-never-ever-wear-to-work/

No comment on the Tommy Bahama shirts. 🙂

Do you have one for men as well? Because if they could stop wearing Tommy Bahamas shirts and nautical boat shoes that would be great.

Right?? I’m an nyc agent. I’ve worn dressy yoga pants, combat boots fitted t shirt and pea coat. I close more deals wearing stuff like this than dressing corporate. But oc course these types of listing are in the 4-7k mo range. Anything above 7k, I wear a fitted almost mini skirt, stilettos, and a sexy long /mid sleeved top. Who ever made this article is a moron. Sexy sells. It’s not WHAT you wear, it’s HOW you wear it 🙂

Carrie, safety is a big issue which is why we just hired a columnist to cover the topic. That said, I still don’t think wearing a tracksuit and running shoes is the answer though. Just my 2 cents though and appreciate your thoughts here!

REALLY? Do you know how many Real Estate Agents are victims of assault? A career in which you meet strangers in empty houses means you have to be able to protect yourself and escape if need be. Google “Realtor Attacked” and brace yourself.
