It has a fun brand name “Hang Time” which we love, and we are using it all the time. We put it up in the main entrance. She had it engraved with our names. It looks great.

I’d beg to differ– Cutco knives and a bamboo cutting board have been a hit for us as a mortgage firm. It really depends on your customer. Have a few other options for plan b and c.

Julie, just my 2 cents here, but I happen to think that Cutco knives are a bit of a gimmick especially considering how much more seriously amateur cooks take their kitchen equipment these days. If you’re going to go with knives, I think you’d impress much more with a Shun. They are handcrafted in Japan and are something of a status symbol for home cooks. They’re also beautiful, which can’t be said for cutco. Again, just my 2 cents!

Set them up with a good photography studio to take their family portrait in their new home.

Hmmm interesting point! I didn’t think of cross cultural gifting issues.

One exception is clients whose cultural traditions see knives and other items as bad luck. For example, many Chinese believe that giving knives or clocks as gifts symbolize “giving death” so do your research before giving something that may unintentionally make the recipient uncomfortable.
